How we test IPTV services, apps and devices
Every Rising IPTV guide is written by people who set up and use IPTV themselves. This page explains how we test, what we look at and how we keep our guides accurate and independent.
Our test setup
We test on the devices our readers actually use: Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku, Apple TV, Android TV boxes, smart TVs, Android phones, iPhones and Windows computers. We use ordinary home internet connections, not a lab, so the results match what you will see at home.
What we check
- Setup: how easy it is to install the app or service, step by step, and whether every step in our guide still works.
- Stream quality: picture quality in SD, HD and 4K, how quickly channels start and how often streams buffer.
- Internet speed: how much bandwidth a stream really needs, measured on our own connections.
- Features: TV guide (EPG), catch-up and recording (DVR), search, favourites and parental controls.
- Privacy and security: what data an app asks for, whether it works with a VPN, and any warning signs of an unsafe service.
- Price and support: what you pay, trial and refund terms, and how quickly support answers.
How we keep guides up to date
Apps and devices change often. We review our guides regularly, repeat the setup steps on current software and update screenshots and instructions when something changes. The "Updated" date at the top of each guide shows when it was last reviewed.
Independence and sponsorship
Rising IPTV is free to read. We pay for it with clearly labelled sponsor spots, described on our advertising page. Sponsors never write or approve our guides, and paying for a sponsor spot does not change what we write. Anything paid is marked as "Sponsored".
Legal use
Our guides explain how IPTV technology works and how to set up players and devices. Only use IPTV services that hold the rights to the channels and content they offer, and check the rules in your country.
Found a mistake?
